Inaugural Missioning Mass
Thursday, November 9, 12:15 p.m.
Holy Name of Jesus Church
The entire Loyola community is invited to celebrate the missioning of Xavier Cole as the 18th president of Loyola University New Orleans in a special Mass that will include his missioning by the Very Rev. Thomas P. Greene, S.J., Provincial Superior.
Please note that the Inaugural Missioning Mass will not feature an academic procession.

Immediately following Mass, a celebration coordinated by SGA will be held on campus in the Peace Quad/Dittman Circle. All are welcome.

Participation
The deadline has passed to sign up to participate in the academic procession. Please know that faculty and staff may attend the inauguration ceremony without donning regalia and participating in the academic procession. No reservation required.
Liberal leave will be in effect beginning at 2:30 p.m.
Academic Attire
In keeping with academic tradition, faculty and staff participating in the inauguration ceremony procession on Friday, November 10 are to be attired in the appropriate regalia for their field of study and highest degree earned.
Note: The Inaugural Missioning Mass on Thursday, November 9 will not feature an academic procession.
Additionally, faculty and staff may attend the inauguration ceremony without donning regalia and participating in the academic procession.
Regalia Rental
The deadline to rent regalia for inauguration through the Loyola Bookstore has passed. If you placed an order with the Bookstore, pick up and return information is below.
Pick Up
Rental regalia may be picked up during regular Bookstore hours from Monday, November 6 through Friday, November 10.
The Bookstore is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Return
The Bookstore will be open the evening of Friday, November 10 until 6 p.m. to accept the return of rental regalia following the ceremony and reception.
All rental regalia must be returned to the Bookstore by Tuesday, November 14.
Processional
Participating faculty and staff should assemble on the first floor of the Monroe Library beginning at 2:00 p.m.
The procession will begin forming at 2:30 p.m. Official Inauguration Marshals will coordinate the lineup.
The processional lines will be directed from the Library, through the Peace Quad, and towards Holy Name of Jesus Church by inauguration marshals who will also direct faculty and staff to their designated seating in the Church.
Note: In the event of rain, robing will take place in Marquette Hall. A campus-wide email notification will be sent out if the rain plan is implemented.
Inauguration Ceremony
The inauguration ceremony begins at 3 p.m. and is expected to conclude by 4:15 p.m.
Inauguration Reception
All ceremony participants and guests are invited to an on-campus reception immediately following the inauguration in the Palm Court.
1912 Society Inauguration Dinner
Cocktails 6:30 p.m., Dinner 7:45 p.m.
Roosevelt New Orleans Hotel
Following the inauguration reception, all are invited to join us at for an evening of celebration and fellowship at the 1912 Society Inauguration Dinner as we welcome President Cole and recognize the 2023 Integritas Vitae recipient, Amy Cyrex Sins, ’98.
